Auto Insurance

Anyone who owns a licensed vehicle in British Columbia is required by law to carry at least minimal insurance coverage. This basic mandatory coverage is provided by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), the public insurer operated by the Provincial Government.

Optional ICBC Insurance

Sometimes you need a little more coverage, that's why we have affordable options to fit every need. Optional ICBC auto insurance, provides protection in addition to that offered by your basic automobile insurance policy.

  • Collision and comprehensive for break-ins, windshields, impact with animals etc.
  • ICBC Roadstar and ICBC Roadside Plus Packages
  • Extra third party liability (up to $5,000,000)
  • Replacement cost for vehicles 3 years old or newer

If you use the online system, you will be prompted to choose your “Broker of Choice”. This is where you can select your local Northern Savings Insurance office, and an advisor will reach out to you to review your transaction after you complete it. Please note, our Masset location will not be listed, if you are on Haida Gwaii, please choose our Daajing Giids location for local service.
You will no longer need to display a decal on your BC license plate once you renew your policy. This is for renewals from May 1, 2022 onward.
Your ICBC renewal documents will be emailed to you and you will be required to print them off and keep a copy in your vehicle.

If you do not have a printer, you can request to have us print the documents off for you. You can also ask ICBC to mail you a copy of your documents.

Renew your ICBC insurance online

Eligible ICBC personal auto insurance policies can now be renewed online through ICBC's website.
