INSPIRE Fund

Looking to make a lasting difference in your community? Together, we can build a legacy of positive change. The INSPIRE Fund supports impactful projects and initiatives that help Northern communities thrive today and for years to come.

Requests of $5,000 to $50,000

Applications accepted between July - September

Funds are distributed in October

$109,000 will be distributed in 2026!

When you choose Northern Savings, you're helping build stronger communities across the North. The more people who bank, invest, and insure with us, the more we can give back to impactful local projects. In 2026, we're proud to provide $109,000 in funding to initiatives on behalf of our members.

How to apply

The 2026 application period is open July 16-September 1. Apply now >

Preference

Preference will be given to programs/organizations that meet the following criteria:

Are members of Northern Savings
Are located within our market area
Not-for-profit society, registered charity, social enterprise, co-operative, Indigenous community and/or organization
Benefit the greatest number of people for the longest period of time
Have measurable results
Initiatives that reflect the essence of our Vision of, “Neighbours Helping Neighbours to Build Sustainable Communities”
Create long-standing or legacy impact (i.e., local infrastructure or events that yield high levels of economic impact

Application types not supported

Research, surveys, or studies
Retroactive expenses
Wages
Individuals
Religious or political organizations
Advertising and promotion
Events / projects not within the communities that are serviced by Northern Savings*
Applications that represent a conflict of interest for Northern Savings, or that promote specific programs or issues where members of the Credit Union may have significantly divergent views

*On occasion, Northern Savings provides financial support to communities or initiatives beyond Northern BC.

Northern Savings accepts donation/sponsorship requests from organizations that require funds to support local events, programs, and initiatives.

(giveaways and volunteers etc.)

Will be given to programs/organizations that meet the following criteria:

Are members of Northern Savings
Are located within our market area
Are non-profit and work toward the betterment of the community
Provide our employees the opportunity to participate and contribute as volunteers
