Auto Insurance - COVID-19

Insurance During a Difficult Time

Did you know that many insurance transactions, including transfer of ownership and new policies, can now be completed through phone and email? This is temporary to help meet British Columbians' insurance needs without in-person contact.

Insurance due to expire?

If your insurance is due to expire, please give us a call, send us an email: info@northsave.com, or start your renewal online >

We are experiencing high call and email volumes, there may be some delays in responding to  messages, but please be assured, your insurance needs will be looked after.

Auto Renewals

Here are a few things you need to be aware of if your ICBC Auto Insurance is coming up for renewal:

  • We recommend insurance renewals are started at least 10 days prior to expiry
  • Autoplan/ICBC transactions require you to have a valid email address and phone number
  • If you renew your insurance by phone or email, our insurance team will email you a copy of your insurance documents. Hard copies of your documents, including your decal, will then be mailed to you. Once your renewal is complete and coverage is in place, your vehicle can be driven but you need to ensure a copy of your new insurance papers are in your vehicle.

Autoplan Payment Deferrals

Customers on a monthly Autoplan payment plan, who are facing financial challenges due to COVID-19, can defer* their payments for up to 90 days with no penalty. Payment deferral is also available for fleets. If your account is not up to date, you aren’t eligible to defer payments but ICBC will work with you to find a mutually agreeable solution.

To defer your payments, use ICBC's Payment Plan Deferral Date Request Form >

*Payment deferral refers to the postponement, or delay, of payment owed.
