Financial Literacy

Northern Savings believes it is essential to have the skills and knowledge to make informed and effective financial decisions. We are committed to growing the financial capacity of our community members and are providing opportunities that will help develop money management skills.

We believe financial literacy is a lifelong learning process, that's why Northern Savings offers programs and information for those aged six to those sixty and over, and everyone in between; below is a list of the programs and information we have available.

Seminars Expand/Collapse

Every quarter Northern Savings offers FREE financial planning seminars on topics ranging from travel insurance to retirement planning. Dates, times, locations, and topics will be posted in our branches and on our website in advance of the seminar, so be sure to check our News & Events page for the latest seminar information.

Financial Literacy Camps Expand/Collapse

Northern Savings Credit Union offers FREE Financial Literacy Camps to schools and organizations. These unique half day camps will teach kids aged 9-12 about money, the importance of saving, and how to budget.

The City Expand/Collapse

The City is a financial literacy program developed for young adults by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) and the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC). It teaches financial skills that can be carried throughout life.
