Director ElectionsIn 2017, there are three director vacancies on Northern Savings' Board of Directors:
- One (1) three-year seat representing District 1 (Prince Rupert and areas outside the Northwest Region)
- One (1) two-year seat representing District 2 (Queen Charlotte and Southern Region)
- One (1) three-year seat representing District 7 (Terrace and Region)
Have Your Say!Member are bring asked to vote on the Special Resolution and Directorship Elections (Terrace and Queen Charlotte only) on April 26, 27, and 28 in all of our branch locations.
The Special Resolution involved proposed changes to the Credit Union rules.

I’ve managed economic strategies and have watched their progress through implementation. I continually build my knowledge, experience and skills. Northern Savings has allowed me to excel in wealth management and strong governance. As a Director of three years, I understand the duties of our Board. We will continue to understand the immediate and future regional opportunities. We will continue to excel in governance through regular monitoring and updates. I appreciate the opportunity for training and experience which now carries out in all my work.”|
Jacques Morin (Queen Charlotte) Expand/Collapse

I have over twenty years of coastal experience in a wide range of economic sectors as an Environmental Consultant. Professionally, my experience in the forest industry and the energy sector has led me to work closely with many First Nations communities, municipalities and industries to achieve the sustainable challenges of the 21st century. My previous community involvement included the Gwaii Trust Society Board of Directors and the Queen Charlotte Advisory Planning Committee. Currently I sit on the Board of the Laskeek Bay Conservation Society, and am a volunteer Fire Fighter with the Queen Charlotte Fire Department, demonstrating my commitment to serve our community."|

|“I am a long-time Terrace resident with education and business experience enhancing my financial literacy and varied management skills. I own and operate Barton Construction Ltd. doing commercial, industrial and residential construction and renovation. I am a strong supporter of our region and its vast resources and varied ethnicities and interest. I have been, and continue to be, involved in community organizations which work toward the benefit of area residents. I look forward to serving on the Board of Northern Savings to maintain the integrity of the credit union philosophies, and propose and support policies to this end.”|

|“For the past two years I’ve served on the Board of Northern Savings, currently as Vice-Chair. I have experience in Board Governance serving as Governance Chair for BC Chamber of Commerce, United Way Northern BC and the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers of Canada. With over 30 years of accounting, financial and business management experience, I’ve been involved in a wide range of industries, including serving as VP Finance of a large regional BC media group. I have experience in executive talent management, been involved in senior management selection, developing performance management criteria and assessing, and monitoring performance to established criteria. I currently operate CFR Management Inc. providing financial/business management services.”|
Mail-In BallotsMembers wishing to vote by mail-in ballot must submit a written request. Requests for a mail-in ballot will be accepted until Tuesday, April 18, 2017 and requests are to be made to the Returning Officer through email: firstname.lastname@example.org or in writing to: Heidi Harris at Northern Savings Credit Union, Corporate Office, 138 3rd Avenue West, Prince Rupert, BC V8J 1K8.
All ballots must be returned by Friday, April 28, 2017 at 5pm. Ballots received after this date will be void. Mail or deliver completed ballots to the address above.
